Ergonomic issues

365 Project: Days 88-89

I went to Target late this afternoon and walked into our bedroom and saw this. Jon was definitely up to something!

Oh, looky! There he is! He has a corner in our bedroom where he’s always had his desk set up. Jon would rather have his own space in our room than to share the office with me and the girls. He is very neat and orderly,  and well… we’re not as much. 🙂  Plus, he does a lot of work from home, and prefers quiet during those times, and that doesn’t usually happen wherever the rest of the family is. The mission-style desk he had in this spot is pushed up backwards against the wall on the right, and DID look really good there.

He’s been brainstorming lately about how to lower his desk because when he works, he likes to recline in his desk chair somewhat, and this has posed some ergonomic issues. So, what he decided to do was completely ditch the old desk, attach braces to the wall, and drop in a slab of desktop from Hannah’s old loft bed desk. He knows what he wants and goes for it.

He started and finished the project the same day and got everything back in order. The next thing we need to do is get those cords either behind the wall or covered up in some way. Maybe we could paint them the color of the wall. I don’t know. Maybe that’s cheesy. Anyway, here’s what it looked like (at 12:06 p.m.) the next day. Jon even put those foam pipe cover things along the edge for his arms. How much more stylish and ergonomic can you get than that?! 🙂
